AhlulBayt News Agency: Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, a well-known anti-Zionist figure, held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Brazil, voicing solidarity with the Iranian people amid recent military tensions.
Rabbi Weiss, who traveled to Brazil to participate in events linked to the BRICS summit, met and held talks with Foreign Minister Araghchi to express his continued support.
During his visit to the Iranian Embassy in Brazil, Rabbi Weiss expressed his sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian government and people. He also signed a memorial book honoring those martyred in recent Israeli attacks on Iran.
The meeting came after a 12-day military confrontation that began on June 13, during which Israeli strikes targeted Iran’s nuclear, military, and civilian infrastructure. On June 22, the United States also launched attacks on Iran’s Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear sites.
In response, Iran’s military launched powerful counteroffensives. The IRGC Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of missile attacks on Israeli cities as part of Operation True Promise III, inflicting heavy damage.
Additionally, in retaliation for U.S. involvement, Iranian forces launched a missile barrage on al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military installation in West Asia.
A ceasefire agreement took effect on June 24, bringing an end to the hostilities.
